The Countdown is On

No, I have not fallen off the planet. It has been so busy around here that I have had very little time for much else. In 4 short days, my first born will be getting married. He and his fiancé were trying to do it all themselves but because of unforeseen circumstances, we offered to do the wedding prep for them. We have been filling our time with putting together all the details and we have been crafting like crazy. We are preparing for about 60+ guests. The kids and I have made all the table centerpieces, the favors, the wedding arch, the wedding party flowers, advice cards and pens, decorated a plain guest book pen, made a garter for the bride, put together baskets for the bathrooms, and gathered all the incidentals and special touches. The cake has been ordered and the food had been pre-planned. We will be having BBQ supplied by the bride’s dad and other folks will be adding their flavorful dishes to the menu including my son’s favorite macaroni salad and brownies from home. Generous friends have supplied us with serving dishes and other items to help make this wedding beautiful and a day to remember. The bridesmaids’ dresses were made by the maid of honor who also made her own dress. The bride purchased her dress on sale for a very reasonable price and the groom and the groomsmen found their shirts and ties on sale. I haven’t tallied up the total cost as of yet, but with everything, I’m pretty sure we will come in well under $2000, including clothes and food. And we’ve put this all together in less than a month.  I will share pictures at a later time. (Don’t want to spoil anything.)

God is so good to provide items on sale, allowing us to find what we need when we needed it, and providing a means to be able to do this for our son and his future wife. I am so excited about the whole thing and know they will have a wonderful life together.
