Even while most kids take a break from schoolwork for the summer months, I think that keeping their creative juices flowing by writing in their journals is a wonderful idea. Next year I think that I will start keeping a writing journal along with my kids. I have written all of these prompts and yet I have not written anything for them. I think that might be fun. Then maybe we can share all our stories out loud with each other (although lots of times I already read their responses to them and others.)

Hi. I just stumbled onto your post 🙂 I agree with writing journals. They have helped us in the past, and the kids love doing them. Keeping one throughout the summer is a great idea!
