So much to do,
So little time,
I often think,
I’ll lose my mind.
Cookies to bake,
Gifts to buy,
Have we forgotten,
The reason why?
Presents to wrap,
Boxes to send,
The crazy mad rush,
For the list to end.
Decorations to hang,
Houses to clean,
Have we forgotten,
What it really means?
Take a deep breath,
Then let it out,
Think of the reason,
It’s all about.
The gifts, the glitter,
The family and friends,
What does it mean,
In the very end?
Forget the ribbons,
Paper and bows,
Turn all your thoughts,
Toward where blessings flow.
Straight from heaven,
Into our sight,
The very real reason
We celebrate this night.
Slow yourself down,
Take time to see,
What matters most,
Beyond the tree.
A babe born of us,
Flesh and bone,
Have you let Him,
Enter your home?
A gift not wrapped,
And totally free,
Especially chosen,
For you and me.
Redemption, Salvation,
No greater love,
The reason we rejoice,
Came from above.
So forget the worry,
To get it all done,
Today we rejoice,
In the birth of His Son.
