So much to do,
So little time,
I often think,
I’ll lose my mind.
Cookies to bake,
Gifts to buy,
Have we forgotten,
The reason why?
Presents to wrap,
Boxes to send,
The crazy mad rush,
For the list to end.
Decorations to hang,
Houses to clean,
Have we forgotten,
What it really means?
Take a deep breath,
Then let it out,
Think of the reason,
It’s all about.
The gifts, the glitter,
The family and friends,
What does it mean,
In the very end?
Forget the ribbons,
Paper and bows,
Turn all your thoughts,
Toward where blessings flow.
Straight from heaven,
Into our sight,
The very real reason
We celebrate this night.
Slow yourself down,
Take time to see,
What matters most,
Beyond the tree.
A babe born of us,
Flesh and bone,
Have you let Him,
Enter your home?
A gift not wrapped,
And totally free,
Especially chosen,
For you and me.
Redemption, Salvation,
No greater love,
The reason we rejoice,
Came from above.
So forget the worry,
To get it all done,
Today we rejoice,
In the birth of His Son.

Beautiful! Mom
I loved this! So very true!! Not only are you very talented, I am reminded to make sure that I do ask Jesus into our home this Christmas. I knkow He is here always as we are Born-Again, however, I believe that slowing down and being intentional in our observances and being humble in our asking Him to come puts us in a proper place to receive the real blessings of this time and Season.
Thank you for sharing your creativity that came from the heart!

We're in that place of contemplating all the hustle and bustle that has nothing to do with celebrating Jesus…good to stop and reflect well on how it impacts us as Christians.
Blessings,
Anne-Marie
Great poem! I relate on many levels!
This year when the rush of the season gets to me, I slow down and give it to God and let Him put my focus on Him and to just relax and enjoy the process.
Blessings,
Laurie

AMEN!!! Thanks for sharing that. Jesus, He is the reason for the season. Thank you for the reminder to slow down, worry less and remember the reason for it all:)
I am blessed each time I read your poetry. It inspires me to write once again.
Be blessed,
Stacy
