If you downloaded my October Journal prompts you may have noticed that today’s prompt is about the ‘Peanuts’ comic strip. On October 2, 1950, the strip made its debut in several newspapers. Charles Schultz and his ‘Peanuts’ gang are my favorite comic strip. Every Sunday, I looked forward to reading his strip in the paper. Sadly, on January 3, 2000, the last ‘Peanuts’ strip was published and on February 12, 2000, Mr. Schultz passed away from colon cancer. When my kids read the prompt for today, they had a vague idea of who the ‘Peanuts’ gang were but weren’t totally familiar with the characters. If you find your self with the same dilemma check out the Official Peanuts Website. Along with strips, history, fun and games, there is also a meet the gang page that gives a summary of the main characters. Maybe a new generation of kids will enjoy what we have enjoyed for years.
My oldest adores the Peanuts comic strips. He's checked out all the books from the library dozens of times (has a few checked out right now as a matter of fact). The website is something he enjoys as well.
My children like to watch the Charlie Brown seasonal programs that air at certain holidays. They think they are cute!
They usually have a fall (pumpkin) one but I know there is a Christmas one!
They are so cute!

I downloaded the October Journal Promts calender and my dc are using it daily. My ds11 chose Woodstock. I am using this for creative writing assignments. It is working out great. Thanks so much.
