We have been using copywork almost from the time we started homeschooling and I have been creating our own copywork pages for our studies. We usually combine copywork with notebooking to utilize the best of both of these learning styles. We particularly concentrate on Biblical passages and find that copywork helps commit the passages to memory. As many of my readers know, I have a little e-book business on the side where I have a line of copybooks which came from the pages I created for my children to use in our school. I also have created many of the copywork pages used in many of the Schoolhouse Planner modules and other projects for the Old Schoolhouse Magazine.

I would like to start offering free to download from my blog pages for you to use in your homeschool. So I created this category which I’ve called Words of Wisdom Copywork. My intent is to regularly add a set of pages of Scripture passages . The sets will include 3 pages with guidelines on each to aid proper letter formation to use for penmanship. There will be one manuscript, one transitional manuscript, and one cursive page and each page will have illustration boxes. I plan to start with passages from the book of Proverbs, which is one of my favorite books in the Bible, and I will be choosing passages that I feel I have been led to share.

It only seems fitting though that I start with the passage that we have named not only our school after, but also my blog and my company, Proverbs 22:6.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
