Summer has come along like gangbusters with its soaring temperatures and longer hours of daylight. A perfect time for us to tackle some projects that have been calling out to be done for months. I have a long “to do” list of things that have either been met with procrastination or have fallen to the prey of neglect. I am hoping to tackle at least two or three of these a week until we head back to school full time. (We leisurely school part time during the summer tying up loose ends.)
- Clean out the garage
- Clean out the attic
- Organize the classroom
- Re-set a working schedule
- Plan 3 months of menus to be rotated out throughout the year
- Tackle one room in the house at a time for thorough cleanout
- Whistle while I work to drive the kids nuts
- Paint the upstairs bathroom
- Paint the downstairs bathroom
- Finish my e-books that I started a year ago that have been waiting to be done
- Go through schoolbooks
- Sip iced tea at leisure
- Catch up on reading (or at least attempt to read something other than a manual)
- Lay out next year’s lessons
- Teach old dogs new tricks
- Get back yard in some sort of order
- Clean out files on computers and back up files
- Put pictures on discs
- Make a scrapbook of the past 5 years of school
- Sing along off key to the songs on my IPOD
- Make a liner with a zipper for Homeschooling with Heart tote bag so I can use it as a pocketbook
- Sew the kids activity patches on their duffle bags
- Pat the cat and dogs
- Walk a mile a day
- Eat less junk food
- Eat more fruits and vegetables
- Make more homemade goodies
- Laze around when it’s too hot to do anything
- Enjoy spending loads of time with family
- Don’t sweat the small stuff
While this list may not be all inclusive, it gives me a place to start.
So what do you plan to do this summer?
I LOVE your list, Ginny!
It's just perfect. Can I copy?!
Just accomplishing half your list would be something. For me these days, accomplishing about three of those things would make me proud. Best wishes….and when you finish, I have a few things you could do. =)

Cleaning the attic is NOT a summer project….too hot.
Good luck with these tasks….ambitious?
That is a very long list! I hope you get alot of it done.
Blessings,
Dawn
