Back to Homeschool 2008

Today marks the first official day of our school year.  I have to admit while we usually school throughout the summer to some extent, the past few months have been such a flurry of other activity that not a whole lot of formal education went on.  I am looking forward to getting into some kind of routine.  For this week I have decided to just stick with the basics of Math, English, Science, and History just to get the kids back into the swing of things.  I am working on a schedule for us to follow that makes more room for exercise, so after breakfast this morning and before we head for the classroom we will be off to walk the dogs around the block.  It is about a mile and I think it will help to get everyone going.  I’d love to hear when your ‘official’ first day of school begins and what some of your plans are to make this year special.

The kids have slowly started on a subject here or there…but I won't OFFICIALLY start until the first week or so of September, as hubby is taking the last week of Aug. for his vacation time. Also, I consider the animals and garden ongoing schooling, there will be plenty of time for the indoor type stuff later!
