Saturday we celebrated my Dad’s 66th birthday. I am so blessed to have wonderful parents and doubly blessed to have such a great Dad. I have always looked up to him and sought his advice and counsel throughout my life. I appreciate that he reads my blog regularly and gives me words of encouragement. I wrote a bit about him last year, but I wanted to tell you a bit more. He is one of the best fishermen I have ever known. He always seems to catch something even when nothing is biting. (my husband and sons can attest to that). And you should see his gardens. He has such a green thumb. He is quite a handyman being able to not only do repairs around the house but quite creative in the woodshop creating all kinds of things that have withstood the test of time. (I still have the giant ‘toy box’ he made for us when we were very little.)
As I was going through my pictures the other day I noticed that I didn’t have a more recent picture of he and I, so Saturday I asked him if we could take one. He was funny, because he asked if it was going on my blog. He sure does know me. Well, Daddy, here we are, in all our glory.
Happy Birthday, again, Daddy. You know I love you!
Great picture of you and your dad. Love, Mom
As you can see, I did read your blog.
Thanks for all the high praises.
Since Jesus was a fisher of men, I try to take after Him, even though I am more a fisher of fish.
I guess I get my talents for fishing and general home repairs from my Dad, who also had a green thumb.
Love to my Daughter.
You're funny, Daddy. I knew you got your talents from your dad. Just wish they had been passed down to me. At least Larry got them. 🙂
Sweet post! You sure do look like your dad!
