Shereen at Waiting for Him hosts Sew Crafty Friday.
It has been a busy week working on and finishing projects. After the holidays I will share some of what I have made for my family for Christmas. Today I would like to share some pictures of stockings that I made 9 years ago. I made 8 of these, including some for my mother-in law, and my mom and dad, but they have theirs at their homes. I made these 1 ½ -squares of scrap fabrics from previous projects. Then I chose a specific cross-stitch design trying to fit the design for each person’s interests. Candy canes are slipped into the space between the cross stitch and the cuff of the stocking.
I have trouble with close ups but here they are anyway. (sorry about the quality of the pictures)
they are WONDERFUL!
I wish I was that creative. I mean, I could do the cross-stitch, but not so sure about the quilting part (or sewing all those little squares together). We don't have nice stockings, so I haven't even hung any out the past few years.
Thanks for sharing!

I made 4 stockings our first Christmas…planning on having a boy and a girl someday. That worked like a charm!

Those are just too cute! Love your classroom decorations below as well.
Those are the cutest socks I have ever seen!!!! I am bound and determined to knit my children socks for next year and put their names on the cuff. I was going to sew them some socks this year, but just had too many other things to do! You did an awesome job on those!! My Grandmother knit all of our stockings and she put our names at the top. My name was too long so she put my "KEWPIE" because I collected Kewpie dolls and used that as a CB radio name when we used to talk to my Grandparents on CB's from our camp! Oh, the good ol' days. I remember my parents saying that…and now I am! Things sure do change!!! Nothing seems as simple anymore, but I do my best to try to keep things simple around here amongst the chaotic world around us!!
Merry Christmas!!
Thanks for visiting my blog and I subbed to you thru bloglines btw!
