Sending out Christmas Blessings

All our Christmas prep is almost done. All that is left to do is to bake a birthday cake for Jesus. The kids spent the night with some friends last night and my husband and I enjoyed a romantic evening alone. What a very special Christmas gift. Over a nice dinner at my favorite restaurant, we reflected on the past year and of course talked about how we could be better parents for our children. It was so nice to have alone time together. Tonight my oldest will come for our traditional opening of the Christmas P.J’s, which I made this year, and we are planning to watch ‘The Nativity’ together. In the morning my folks will come by to watch the kids open their gifts and to share lunch. Then we’ll chill out for the rest of the day. After a week of bustle, baking, and cleaning, I am so relaxed now. I have such a sense of calm and contentment. This season usually stresses me out trying to get things done a certain way, but for some reason I’m not worried about it. God has placed a true peace upon my heart and I am basking in its warmth. My Christmas prayer is that anyone who stops by here, will have the same peace upon their hearts as they enjoy the celebration of family and the love of our Father. Wishing everyone a wonderfully joyous day and a new year abundantly flowing with His blessings.

In all the busy-ness, when I have started to feel stressed, I have slowed down to give that feeling to the Lord and just enjoy the process. This is new to me…and I liked it! I've also had to make decisions to just let go on a few projects and have peace about it. As in not sending out Christmas cards! I used to be so good and had them all out, personally stamped and hand made, by Dec 1! Now I have this pile of store bought cards and I truely wanted to bless others, but it didn't happen. I'll be enjoying my family too, although I will be posting! LOL Not sure how much though, we'll see! Merry Christmas! I've enjoyed all of your comments!

    Blessings,

Because of Jesus! Not giving the fun up here either, just reminding ourselves of His focus verses ours!

That sounds like a wonderful evening. I hope you and your family had a great Christmas. I love your "pay it forward" idea. I would love to do something like that, but I am not crafty! I took a year of sewing lessons in high school and people still laugh at my sewing.
