In my life this week…
I turned 48 this week. On Monday, my son passed his driver’s test. Congratulations, son. Also, my son finally got a job. He has been looking for over 6 months, following up weekly on all the applications he put in. The jobs have been going to older people with experience so it has been really frustrating for him. It is so hard for a kid to find work these days. Praising God for all His answered prayers this week.
In our homeschool this week…
We worked on a lot of history this week. We had fallen behind a little, but were able to catch up easily. I totally love The Mystery of History and the short lessons. The kids took the mid-term tests and did well, so it looks like this is working well for us.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
In addition to going to the registry for my son’s driver’s test Monday, I also ran around again Tuesday registering a vehicle so my son would have transportation when the other vehicles are being used. It was so nice Wednesday not to have to worry about how to get my daughter to basketball practice and my son to Venturing at the same time.
I also went to the doctor’s again Tuesday and learned everything from the colonoscopy was fine and what was thought to be a polyp was not actually one, just some abnormality but nothing to even think about. We are working on a game plan as to what to do next. Still no answers, but we are working on trying to figure it out.
My favorite thing this week was…
All the blessings that my son experienced getting his license, a vehicle to drive when needed, and getting a job.
What’s working/not working for us…
We are very happy with The Mystery of History and are so grateful for my friend Heidi for sharing her experience with the program. I may not have tried it otherwise.
Homeschool questions/thoughts I have…
I so love the flexibility of homeschooling when there are so many other things in life that need to be done. Not being constrained to a specific time schedules makes life so much easier to navigate.

Congrats on your son getting his license. My oldest is still trying to get his; we’ve faced one roadblock after another!! Frustrating! Congrats on his job, too. My daughter hasn’t been able to find one either.
And, Happy Birthday!! 🙂
Congratulations on your son’s DL test/registration!! Drive safely there! Love your photo!! My son will turn 13 in two weeks!! I can’t believe it. They do grow so fast!
Thanks for sharing. Happy Birthday to You! 😉
IT sounds like you all had a great week. Great news for your son. I hope he enjoys his new job.
Blessings,
Dawn
