Nancy’s assignment for this week is a fairly easy one for me. Read all the details at her blog, Nancy’s Nook.
I know many men and women who are enlisted in the military in service to our country who I have been praying for for years. As I have mentioned before, my brother retired from the USAF after serving for over 20 years. He had many TOD overseas including Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Korea, and other foreign and homeland locations. I am extremely proud of his service. Several of the students I had when I was teaching are currently enlisted, as are many members of our church. So praying for our servicemen, women and their families is second nature for me.
Heavenly Father, I thank-You for all these brave people and the sacrifices they make daily for our sake. I ask that You place a cover of protection over them and that they may serve with honor. I pray for Your constant blessings upon their families and loved ones left behind. Lord, grant them comfort and surety that You are in control of every situation. I ask that You place wisdom and understanding in our leaders’ hearts and minds that they make good decisions as to the best use of our service personal. Thank You, Father, for Your continued mercy and grace on our country, our military, and on those that love You. Amen
Several Scripture passages came to mind for this assignment, but this one stood out for me.
Psalm 34:4-8
I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Amen. "Blessed is the man that trusts in the Lord."
I'm praying for peace, for godly leadership to lead our military, and for righteousness to be restored. Lord help us!!!!
Grace and peace, Leinani

Praying right along with you – especially for the leaders of the countries whose troops are out fighting. May the Lord guide them to the right decisions! Place their trust in the Lord – how wonderful if they would!
God bless you and yours,
~Chrissy
Our military certainly needs lots of prayer for the places of danger that walk into.
Blessings,
Laurie
You have written so a beautiful prayer and found the perfect verse to go with it. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you…I was out of town. Thank you for sharing and taking the time to tell your story.
