Bees In Flight
As I was downloading the pictures from my camera the other day, I found this one taken by my son. He never mentioned taking it. I was amazed at what he was able to capture and asked how he did it. He told me that he had seen the bees flying at each other and thought it was cool. So he got the camera, lay down on the driveway and zoomed in. He took 3 … Continue reading
Chicken Can Can
This is one of my favorite recipes that my mom used to make when I was little. I make this when we have some leftover KFC or other cooked chicken and my husband is not going to be home for dinner because he doesn’t like rice. The kids and I devour it. Makes about 4 servings. 1 can cream of chicken soup 1 can cream of celery soup 1 can of water (1 1/3 … Continue reading
Home Manager-Bedroom Cleaning Checklist and “Away Days”
The past couple of days, in addition to schoolwork, the kids and I have had what we now call “Away Days”. You might think that we have been adventuring around, but in reality we have been deep cleaning bedrooms. Homeschooling at the Speed of Life Book Opinion
I just finished reading Marilyn Rockett’s book Homeschooling at the Speed of Life. I found this book to be both inspirational and motivating. Filled with the wisdom of a seasoned homeschool mom, peppered with wonderfully relevant quotations and Scriptures, and extremely revealing devotions, it leads the reader step by step into the daunting task of balancing life and homeschool. This book is more than a good read. It employs a ‘hands-on’ method of helping the … Continue reading
Our Classroom
Here are a few pictures of our classroom and the kids diligently working. I have put our black board on the back of the door and that is what they are looking at. They are back to back to each other. Both are set up similarly. These are inexpensive computer desks with out the keyboard shelves attached. They each have a file cabinet beside the desk that stores their notebooks and books. They also have … Continue reading
