Featured Friend-My4Sweatums
Time has slipped by and I find I have neglected my favorite posting. Say hello to Dawn at My4Sweetums this month’s Featured Friend. This mom shares her homeschooling adventures with pictures and stories. Sew Crafty Friday-Costumes
Shereen at Waiting for Him hosts Sew Crafty Friday. This week has been a very busy week. While the kids were doing their school assignments, I was working on costumes for the Fall Festival. Between sewing sessions and schoolwork, we ran errands, went to a tournament, church and ball practice. It took me 4 days to complete 2 outfits. My son’s costume only took a few hours, but my daughter’s took three days. I had made … Continue reading
Using a Flashlight?
My husband and I enjoy the ‘CSI’ type shows, including all the CSI’s, NCIS, Closed Case, Criminal Minds, and Numbers. We like following the evidence and trying to guess who done it. We have noticed, though, that throughout all these shows is a puzzling behavior. These supposedly educated and very intelligent crime solvers all seem to lack the natural instinct to turn on a light. Volleyball Season has Ended
Life has been pretty busy in our neck of the woods and doesn’t show much indication that we will be slowing down any time soon. In addition the kid’s schoolwork and ice-skating, they have been playing volleyball. Last night the girl’s team finished the season with a tournament. They came in second. My daughter, 10, playing among 13-18 year olds, was the youngest player on the team. When she began playing about 2 months ago … Continue reading
Sew Crafty Friday-Skating Skirt
Shereen at Waiting for Him hosts Sew Crafty Friday. My daughter loves to skate, but skating costumes in her size don’t quite fit right and aren’t as modest as I prefer. I made her this skirt a couple of weeks ago because she wanted something that flared out when she did spins. This was the first time I had made a circular skirt and I learned two things. One thing is that I probably won’t make … Continue reading
