Zucchini Bread
My dad is an awesome gardener. He always has a bumper crop of zucchini. My family doesn’t really like it as a vegetable but devours it when I make zucchini bread. Here is the recipe I use. (I usually have to double it and make multiple batches to use all the squash he gives us.) 3 cups shredded zucchini (I use my Salad Shooter to shred the squash) 1 2/3 cups sugar 2/3-cup vegetable … Continue reading
Results of Fun in the Mud
I thought I’d join in the Show & Tell Friday Group this week and share a picture I took of my oldest son and his truck after an evening of fun in the begining of June. Although he had a great time the day before, it took him weeks to get his truck clean. The vehicle is really silver. I guess boys never out grow playing in the dirt.
Charlotte’s Web – The Movie
Consolidated Theaters offered an eight-week movie program for kids. Tickets were free in some locations and $1 in others. My two kids and I were able to see Charlotte’s Web for $1. That isn’t to say that everything on the lists gets done, but it helps me to … Continue reading
Homeschool Planning Sheets
With Girl Scout Camp behind us, my attentions are turned toward preparing for the new school year. Even though we school year round, the slower pace of summer is a good time to layout what we want to accomplish in the next school year. After reviewing this past year’s schedule, I have decided to streamline our studies and place more emphasis on the subjects that I think the kids need to work on more diligently. … Continue reading
Girls Scout Camp News
Whew! What a great week at camp! This is my fifth year working at Girl Scout camp. The first 3 years I had the ‘tag-a-longs’ (volunteers’ kids, mostly boys). Then last year I had 3rd year Juniors, which I really enjoyed. This year I had a group of 30 Brownies. I work with Brownies during the year even though my daughter is a Junior. This way she gets a break from me. (LOL) Each year … Continue reading
